If i want to teach english in europe will i need a teaching degree in english or esl?

i am searching for colleges and i would like to know which would be the major i would need to teach english in europe. it can only b 1 b/c i want it as a back up plan in case i cant find a job with what i want to do(nutrision). so which 1 would i need, a teaching degree in english or a teaching degree in esl???
